The Bachelorthesis deals with the potential of comics as information media. “Mickey Mouse helps with the task of social enlightenment!”, this pronouncement by the Viennese information designer Otto Neurath provided the starting point for an analysis of the possible uses of comics as a medium for the dissemination of economic knowledge. In our information era, when communication through visual media has become a significant element of our daily life, it becomes more and more important to open up such new channels. This theoretical thesis, in combination with the webcomic “Galaxport” as a practical example, aims to demonstrate, that comics are well suited to provide complex information materials for clearly defined target groups.
